At SYNLAB Laboratory Services we offer breathalysers to test a breath sample for the presence of alcohol. The process for collecting a sample is quick and simple, and can be completed within a few minutes.

 DRÄGER 6820 BREATHALYSER

The Dräger 6820 is an electronic breathalyser that provides legally defensible results. The compact design makes it easy to hold and operate with just one hand.

Equipped with the proven electrochemical Dräger sensor, the Dräger 6820 provides near instant results.

The breathalyser can be sold individually or as part of a kit that also includes: Dräger mobile thermal printer and a starter kit including a hard carry case, batteries, 2 printer rolls and 50 mouthpieces.

The results of all breath tests using an electronic breathalyser are immediately printed and a copy is given to the donor. If a paper collection is completed, a physical copy is also given  to the site contact and SYNLAB Laboratory Services’ Collection Technician will print a third copy and attach it to the paperwork.

To remain legally defensible, the breathalyser must be recalibrated every 6 months, a service that SYNLAB Laboratory Services is able

to provide.

Accessories for electronic breathalysers, such as mouthpieces and printers, can be purchased individually.

Mouthpieces

Slide ’n’ Click mouthpieces can be bought in packs of 100, 250 or 1000 and prevent any attempts at manipulation.

Printers

Dräger Mobile Printers print breath alcohol test measurement results without using a dedicated power supply. They operate

on 4 AA batteries.

  DISPOSABLE BREATHALYSER

The Alcoproof® breathalyser is a single use disposable breathalyser used to provide an indication of the alcohol content of the donor’s exhaled air.

This result is a screening result, providing and indication of the presence of alcohol. Where a legally defensible result is then required or a back calculation needed, a follow up electronic breathalyser should be conducted.
